New impulses for digital finishing
Digital finishing technology is developing rapidly. The Nepata Group has recognized this trend and launched Nepata Systems, a company that specializes in solutions for digital finishing - from flatbed plotters to roll-to-roll label cutters.
When you arrive in Wolnzach in Upper Bavaria, you see hops everywhere you look. They call this special plant "green gold" here. A completely different world opens up on the outskirts of town: the Nepata Group has its home behind a modern glass facade and in light-filled halls. Here, Nepata GmbH manufactures machines for converting films and digital printing media of all kinds. The range includes rewinders and slitters. Further back in the hall, transfer presses "made in Germany" from the Secabo brand are assembled. Behind this is the sister company Nepata Vertrieb, which has been serving the advertising technology and textile finishing market for around 20 years. And not just with transfer presses or cutting plotters, but also with Europe's largest online shop for advertising technology and textile finishing "YOW!".
Now the Nepata family has grown. Nepata Systems was launched in 2022 to devote itself entirely to the field of digital finishing. Nevertheless, the company is not a complete newcomer. Under the Secabo brand, solutions for print finishing have been offered since 2017: label cutters, card cutters or flatbed plotters. "While these products basically share the cutting technology with the plotters for advertising technology, the market is different," explains Oliver Tiedemann, one of the three Nepata managing directors and main manager of the digital finishing division. In order to be able to serve printing companies and industrial customers more specifically, a specialized team at Nepata Systems takes care of their requirements. The focus is on cost-effective, small to medium-sized computer-controlled finishing solutions for the paper and printing industry. "We want to help companies in these industries to implement ideas flexibly and efficiently in order to offer new products and thus open up new markets."
Inspiration for new business areas
What does that mean in concrete terms? Tiedemann points to a flatbed plotter from the Vulcan brand: "It is suitable for producing prototypes or small series for folding boxes. Also for place cards, stands, stickers, ceiling hangers, specially shaped business cards, puzzles, stencils, dummies for industry, models for architecture and so on - all profitable from a single unit." So there are lots of ideas about what printing companies could do with the device. This is exactly what Nepata Systems values. "We don't just want to sell the devices, we also want to provide inspiration for new business areas," says Tiedemann. Service is just as important to him: "A key differentiator for us is that we don't just sell products, we also set up each device ourselves and offer training on how the customer can maximize their output with the solutions." Support is also taken very seriously in order to solve problems quickly and keep interruptions to ongoing operations to a minimum. Online access is also possible to all devices.
